Cap. 46.
of ſuch Houſe, or in any Building thereto belonging, by incur the ſame
any Perſon or Perſons whatſoever, for the making of Penalties as the Perſons
Wort, Waſh, or other Liquor for Diſtillation, or of any uſing the ſame.
Low Wines or Spirits, without a due Entry being pre=
viouſly made thereof at the proper Office of Exciſe, as is
by Law required, ſuch Occupier ſhall incur and be ſub=
ject to the ſame Pains and Penalties as are by Law
directed to be inflicted on the Perſon or Perſons actually
uſing any ſuch Back or Still.

XXXIII. And be it further enacted, That all Arrack Spirits ſeized
and Rum, and all Home made and foreign Brandy, Com= and condemn=
pounds, and other Spirits, of what Kind ſoever, which ed, to be va=
ſhall be ſeized and condemned as forfeited, under any lued by ſuch
former Act or this preſent Act, ſhall be valued by ſuch Perſons, &c.
Perſons, and in ſuch Manner and Form reſpectively, as as the Com=
the Commiſſioners of Exciſe, in Caſes of Seizure made miſſioners of
by their Officers, and as the Commiſſioners of His Ma= Exciſe and
jeſty's Cuſtoms, in caſe of Seizure made by Officers of Cuſtoms re=
the Cuſtoms, ſhall reſpectively direct; and, after ſuch ſpectively ſhall
Valuation, the ſame ſhall be Staved and utterly deſtroyed; direct; and
and that, on the Officer or Officers who ſeized the ſame then deſtroy=
producing a ſatisfactory Certificate or Proof of ſuch Va= ed.
luation and Condemnation, and of the deſtroying ſuch
Brandy, Compounds, or other Spirits, unto the ſaid
Commiſſioners, they are hereby reſpectively authorized
and required to direct the Receiver-general of the Duties
of Exciſe, or the Receiver-general of the Cuſtoms, as Receiver-ge=
the Caſe may be, to pay, out of the Duties in their Re= neral to pay to
ceipt and Collections, unto the ſeizing Officer or Officers, the ſeizing Of=
the Amount in Value of his or their Shares of ſuch ficer the
condemned and deſtroyed Brandy, Compounds, or other Amount of his
Spirits, according to the Valuation thereof made as Share of the
aforeſaid, excluſively of the Duties for the ſame; any Value.
Law, Statute, or Uſage to the contrary notwith=
ſtanding.

XXXIV. And whereas a Manufacture of Spirits, com= From Nov. 1,
monly called Maidſtone Geneva, was formerly eſtabliſhed 1784, George
at Maidſtone in Kent by George Biſhop of that Place, Biſhop of Maid=
which Manufacture is eſſentially different from any other ſtone ſhall pay
Manufacture of Spirits in Great Britain, as well with the following
