17. said in case the same had been purchased accord-
ingly and had been settled and entailed as there-
in and herein before is mentioned And in the said
reciting Indenture of Feofment there are contained
powers to the said Archibald Duke of Argyle,
David Lord Viscount Stormont and John
Sharpe and the Survivors of them and the Nomi-
nees and Assigns of such Survivor from time to
time until such Sale as aforesaid And with such
Consent as therein mentioned to grant Offices civil
military judicial or ministerial and to present &
collate to ecclesiastical Benefices within the said
Isle upon Vacancies as therein mentioned And
it was thereby further declared and agreed
that so soon as it should so happen that any
any of them the said Archibald Duke of
Argyle David Lord Viscount Stormont and
John Sharpe should depart this Life That
immediately from thenceforth the Survivors
should elect and by writing under their hands
Nominate such other proper persons as they
should think fit to supply the place of the
person so dying in the execution of the said Trusts
and after such Election and Nomination should
by proper Conveyances enfeoff some other pro-
per Person or Persons and their Heirs of the said
Isle and premises or otherwise convey the
same
