This Indenture made the Eighteenth day of September
in the Eighteenth Yeare of the Reigne of our Soveraigne
Lord Charles the Second by the Grace of God King of
England Scotland ffrance and Irland Defend^r of the
faith &c Between the Right Honble Charles Earle of
Derby Lord Stanley & Strange of Knocken Baron Welon
Viscount Kinton Lord Mohun Burnell Basset & Lacy Lord
Lieu^t of the Counties Pallatins of Lanc^r and Chester and the
City and County of Chester Chamberlayne of Chester vice
Admirall of the afores^d Counties Lord of Mann & the Isles &c of the
one part, and Rob^t Calcott of the Nunnery in the parish of Kitt
Braddan within the said Isle Gent upon the other pte
Witnesseth that the said Earle for and in consideration of the
Sum of four hundred pounds pounds of Lawfull English money
to him in hand paid before the Insealing and Delivery of
these presents, and also for and in consideration of the Yearly
rent hereafter in these presents mentioned & reserved, and also
for divers other good causes and considerations him the said
Earle especially moving Hath demised granted Sett and to
farme Letten, and by these presents doth demise grant
Sett and to farme Lett unto the said Robert Calcott his
heyres or Assignes, All and every those grounds and
severall Inclosures of Land with the Appurtenances
commonly called & known by the name or names of
Lough Mallo alias Lough Allo and Drie Closes alias
Calcotts Closes being of the Yearly Rent of Seaven
pounds three shillings and four pence now or late
in the tenure holding or other occupation of James
Chrishem, Scituate lying and being in the parish of
