The humble Address of the Keys

May it please your Excellency

We the Keys being now assembled agreeable to Your Excellencys [summons?] [that?] [the?] [Keys?]
are pleased to take this opportunity of returning your Excellency our sincere thanks [&?] [express?]
& the paternal mark & great affection & Solem for this Distressed Island [&?] [praying?] [in?] this [every?]

to request you would be pleased to lay our humble Petition before his most Sacred
Majesty our Sovereign in the most dutifull & respectfull manner, & wishing
your Excellency may long live to preside over us is the hearty Desire of

Forasmuch as there is a vacancy in the house of Keys by the decease of M^r
[Ewan?] Christian late one of the Members, It is this day resolved & agreed upon
that the following persons to wit -
M^r John Joseph Bacon
M^r James Oates
be returned to your Excellency as proper & fitt persons (who have been [been?]
duly elected by this House) to supply & fill up the said vacant [seat?] [and?] [it?]
is humbly recommended to your Excellencys option & choice Dated
